US software company Pivotal has opened its first big data innovation centre in Singapore with a goal is to help customers execute advanced analytics projects. To date, the company has invested nearly S$10 million in hardware and software in the centre and will be providing training in data science to meet the growing demand for talent in this area.
The centre we’ve set up here with the IDA allows people to come on site, bring their information and we’ll work together to discover what’s interesting about that information and then show them how to take advantage of that,” said Paul Maritz, CEO of Pivotal. “And in doing so they’ll learn the new techniques of how to work with big data and analytics.”
