Air Force Issues Call for Proposals for AI Data Centers

Oct. 17, 2025 — The U.S. Department of the Air Force announced it is accepting proposals for the development of artificial intelligence data centers .

The Air Force said projects must include greater than 100 megawatts of new load and at least $500 million in capital expenditures, adding that it is seeking monetary consideration for the AI data center.

If an onsite power generation component is included in the proposal, then the DAF will require the first right of refusal to power generation.
