March 31, 2025 — Preferred Computational Chemistry Inc. (PFCC) announces that it will team up with ENEOS Corp. to enable AI-driven formulation optimization of chemicals and materials using NVIDIA ALCHEMI software. The collaboration was announced at NVIDIA GTC.
The collaboration focuses on R&D for industrial performance and sustainability with a focus on such areas as lubricants and immersion cooling fluids that support energy-efficient cooling of data centers.
Their approach will leverage PFCC’s Matlantis universal atomistic simulator that facilitates AI-enabled simulations of new chemicals and materials, providing insights and advancements in innovation. Computational workloads will be run on NVIDIA accelerated computing to take advantage of best-in-class hardware and software. In addition, NVIDIA ALCHEMI software and tools will be used to accelerate chemistry-specific computational workloads. The deployment of AI solutions will be guided by ENEOS’s substantial domain expertise in chemicals and materials for ensuring that relevant AI techniques are deployed to discover materials that meet target properties.
The collaboration will initially focus on lubricants and immersion cooling fluids for data centers, and will also aim to drive innovation efficiency and faster time-to-market for new products including additional high-impact materials such as catalysts and polymers.
Wear-resistant lubricants and coolants for data centers and thermal management are becoming increasingly critical to maintain operational performance and cost effectiveness in modern datacenters. Advancements in AI can accelerate materials discovery and foster innovation.
