In what is becoming an annual tradition for the @HPCpodcast, we present “Live from Nvidia GTC 2025,” covering highlights from the Nvidia extravaganza with an AI-everywhere theme.
We review the conference, discussing everything from the new AI compute industry landscape, including the recent past (Hopper), the present (Blackwell) and the future (Rubin and Feynman) — i.e., the Nvidia GPU roadmap — plus silicon photonics for cluster interconnect fabric (which we believe was the star of the show), the complexity of inference, low-end systems, power and cooling (did we hear 600 KW per rack?), software (including cluster-level AI-workload-focused open-sourced Dynamo “OS for AI”) and Jensen Huang’s updated definition of storage (the semantic kind), it’s not just about retrieval any more.
